A security monitor raised four alerts from random text inside encoded data rather than from visible or executable content. The signals looked plausible, but the parser had confused data with prose.

The durable correction was not to suppress those four alerts by hostname. The detector learned structural boundaries, added planted positive and negative cases, and expanded the regression suite. The dated record later corrected its own attribution instead of silently rewriting history.
