Founder Spotlight: Brad Strawbridge of Capital City Roofing – Integrity, AI, and Purpose

In the Builders Bible podcast episode published on January 13, 2026, Brad Strawbridge, founder of Capital City Roofing, laid out a clear picture of what it takes to scale a roofing business built on integrity and purpose. After more than a decade at Lowe’s, where he rose from delivery driver to running the home services division, Strawbridge pivoted into roofing and launched his own company in the Atlanta metro area.

Capital City Roofing has since grown rapidly. In its first eighteen months the firm expanded from a start‑up into an operation installing roughly one roof per day and generating around $8 million in revenue across roofing, siding, gutters and remodeling work. Strawbridge credits this trajectory to a relentless work ethic and a commitment to written processes that enable his team to improve continuously.

That operational discipline is anchored by clear values. Strawbridge emphasises integrity, innovation, excellence, transparency and reliability. He refuses to make money at anyone’s expense and uses his business to pursue a mission larger than profit: feeding a million children over the next decade and building partnerships with local schools and even the Atlanta Braves to give back to the community.

Innovation is central to the Capital City Roofing story. Strawbridge has integrated artificial intelligence into most of his workflows, even building an in‑house AI assistant named Megan. The system nurtures leads, remembers customer details and automates follow‑ups so salespeople can focus on relationships. He also experiments with AI‑generated scopes and estimates from inspection photos, always checking the results but recognising the efficiency benefits.

Strawbridge shared candid reflections on the challenges facing roofing businesses. Recruiting motivated workers, especially young people who are willing to take pride in their craft, remains a sticking point. His solution is to hire for integrity and then train for skill, showing new recruits that roofing can change their lives if they apply themselves.

Asked to distil his entrepreneurial philosophy, Strawbridge talked about the importance of honesty and confronting fear. Before starting a business, he advises people to be honest about whether they are built for the emotional roller‑coaster of entrepreneurship. Fear of failure, running out of money or damaging one’s reputation is inevitable, but he believes faith and a commitment to doing the right thing can carry a leader through.

He will be attending the International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas next week and continues to share his experiences on podcasts across the home services space, further demonstrating his expertise and credibility.
