Secure Guest Appearances and Speaking Engagements

Task Library

Land speaking slots at conferences, webinars, and events that build verifiable third-party authority for the personal brand.

Category: Personal Branding

Use this when the brand has content and proof to point to and needs stage-level credibility – Phase 3 (Authority Building).

Inputs

  • List of conferences, association events, meetups, and webinars in the person's niche – warm relationships first
  • Speaker one-sheet: canonical bio and headshot, 2-3 talk titles drawn from the Topic Wheel's HOW/WHAT rings, proof links (videos, podcast features)
  • The entity home live at yourname.com

Steps

  1. List target events where the person's buyers or peers gather; rank by audience fit and whether the event publishes speaker pages – those links persist for years.
  2. Build the speaker one-sheet from existing assets: canonical bio, headshot, talk titles from the Topic Wheel, and links to videos and podcast features as proof of stage ability.
  3. Pitch organizers a specific talk that solves their audience's problems, not a company pitch; warm introductions from peers and past hosts convert best.
  4. Before the event, confirm the speaker page lists the exact canonical name, the canonical headshot, and a link to yourname.com.
  5. Get the talk recorded – conference footage is premium Content Factory raw material – and capture photos of the person on stage for the site's proof sections.
  6. Afterward: publish a recap article on the brand site embedding the talk, cut clips for social, thank the organizer with a Thank You Machine video, and log the speaking credit in the validation inventory.

Definition of done (QA checklist)

  • Talk delivered; speaker page live with exact name and link to yourname.com
  • Recording and stage photos captured and fed into the Content Factory
  • Recap published; organizer thanked publicly; credit logged in the validation inventory
  • Linked back to the definitive article and relevant siblings
  • Complies with Blog Posting Guidelines (if it publishes content)

Example(s)

  • Example needed – run the Meta-Article Prompt after first real run.
