What Are the Responsibilities of Content Group Team Members

I get asked this all the time by new team members. So here it is.

We have a team email at content@localservicespotlight.com.

When I record a podcast, do a Zoom call, or film a video, I forward the recording there. Your job is to pick it up and repurpose it.

When a task comes in, reply that you’re taking it. This way we don’t have two people doing the same thing. All progress is tracked in Basecamp.

Everything you do follows the 4 stage Content Factory.

If you haven’t gone through the Content Factory training yet, do that first.

And read the blog posting guidelines:

What you do

Stage 1 is Produce. That’s me and the experts recording the raw content. Podcasts, Zoom calls, videos. Anyone on the team can produce content as well.

Stage 2 is Process. Download the raw video and process it using Descript or Claude with Descript. Remove filler words, shorten dead air, fix orientation or framing if needed.

Stage 3 is Post. Upload the full processed video to the most appropriate YouTube channel.

We have many, so understand the context of each video and choose accordingly.

Write an article from the video and publish it on the most appropriate website. We have many of those too, so understand the voice and audience.

The article is written as the speaker in the video, not as yourself. If I spoke, I’m the author. If a client spoke, write according to them. Use ChatGPT or Claude to help structure and clean up, but the substance comes from what was actually said. Create YouTube Shorts from the best 15 to 60 second clips.

Stage 4 is Promote. Share the article and shorts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Tag people who are featured or mentioned in the content. This honors them and makes them more likely to share with their audience. Do MAA (Metrics, Analysis, Action) on everything you publish. Check what got views, what got engagement, what didn’t work. Flag winners so we can put Dollar a Day money behind them.

How we work

Track all progress in Basecamp. Post updates with links to what you published as you go.

Document everything. We follow LDT– Learn, Do, Teach. Once you’ve done a task, document it so others can follow.

Follow the SOPs. If you’re not sure how to do something, search for it first.

Communicate. If something is stuck, say so in Basecamp. Don’t sit on content.
