How the Scorecard Works
We pull public data from Google Maps, Google PageSpeed Insights, YouTube, and the open web. Every signal maps to one of four categories. No business has to opt in or pay to be listed — if you operate as an HVAC contractor in a published metro, you’re already in the database.
Your letter grade is based on national percentile:
- A — Top 10% of contractors nationally
- B — Next 20%
- C — Middle 40%
- D — Next 20%
- F — Bottom 10%
An A means you’re outperforming 90% of every HVAC contractor we measure. A C means you’re right in the middle of the pack. The grade compares you to the country, not to the weakest contractor in your zip code.
The Four Categories
Maps Visibility (25 pts)
Are you showing up in the Google Maps local pack? We score your Maps rank for your primary HVAC keyword and the completeness of your Google Business Profile. The top 3 positions take the majority of calls.
Website Quality (25 pts)
Is your site fast, secure, and conversion-ready? We score your PageSpeed Insights mobile score, SSL status, and whether your CMS supports basic conversion mechanics. Slow sites lose half their visitors.
SEO Authority (25 pts)
Are you ranking in organic search? This is where domain rating, referring domains, and estimated organic traffic come in. Maps drives the immediate call. Organic search drives the comparison shopper.
Social & Content (25 pts)
Are you building trust with content? We check Facebook, YouTube, blog activity, and Instagram. A homeowner about to spend $12,000 on a new system wants to see a face, a name, and a track record.
Why Your Score Matters
Most HVAC contractors don’t know if their digital marketing is working. The phone either rings or it doesn’t, and when it doesn’t, the owner is left guessing whether the problem is the ads, the site, the reviews, or the listing.
The scorecard turns the guesswork into a number. It shows you exactly which category is dragging your grade down and what to fix first. The detailed breakdown — available after entering your email — gives you specific scores for each signal and prioritized recommendations ranked by impact.
