When we onboard a new client site we need to connect it to our shared RankMath Pro account. This gives us access to custom schema and advanced SEO features that the free version does not have. We pay for the Agency subscription so our clients get the full power of RankMath Pro at no extra cost to them. This is part of what we do inside our Maps Visibility System and Conversion Engine Package.
Here is how I set it up every time.
Step 1
Log into our RankMath account at https://rankmath.com
Step 2
Log into the client’s WordPress site and remove any existing RankMath plugin that is already installed. This is important because the free version will conflict with Pro.
Step 3
Go back to our RankMath account and download the RankMath Pro plugin file.
Step 4
In the client’s WordPress dashboard go to Plugins and click Upload Plugin. Upload the file you just downloaded and click Install.
Step 5
After installing click Connect and make sure it shows as connected to our account.
Step 6
Verify the connection by checking that the Pro features are now available.
If something goes wrong
The most common mistake is forgetting to remove the free RankMath plugin before installing Pro. Once you remove the old plugin and follow these steps it should connect right away.
