The Better Business Bureau asked me to teach their accredited businesses how to get digital marketing going.
We maxed out at 400 registrants. People couldn’t get in. I felt awful.
So here’s everything we covered, plus the recordings and materials we gave away for free.

This is the same training our Certified Digital Marketing Agencies go through. The same framework we use with Nike, the Golden State Warriors, and Ashley HomeStore’s 710 locations.
But it works even better for the plumber in Omaha, the tax preparer in Miami, the roofer in Charlotte.
Make a 15-second video every day
Pull out your phone. Say “Hi, I’m [name] from [business], and we’re open today to serve you.” Post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Takes 15 seconds. Almost nobody does it.
“But Dennis, I already said we’re open two months ago.”
Did you say it today?

Reply with video, not text
On Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail, Messenger, wherever someone messages you, hit the camera button instead of typing.
I do this 20 times a day. A buddy posts something cool, I reply with a 10-second video saying “Dude, that was awesome.”
They notice. They reach out. They feel like they know you.
A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth a thousand pictures. Do the math.

Your customers will make your marketing for you
My buddy Tommy Mello started A1 Garage Door Service by himself. Now it’s the largest garage door company in the United States.

One of his secrets? Every technician asks the customer for a 15-second video review after the job.

“My boss is encouraging us to collect reviews. Do you mind? My bonus is based on it.”
95% say yes.
The videos look terrible. Shot on a phone in someone’s garage with a dumpster in the background. But that’s what makes them real. Real converts. Stock photos don’t.

Dollar a Day
Post a video. Hit the blue Boost button. $1 a day for 7 days. Target your local community.

If you’re one location and you draw a five-mile circle around your business, that’s 7,000 to 10,000 people. You can reach almost all of them for $10 to $15.

That’s putting a flyer on every door in the neighborhood for the cost of lunch.
We did this for Infusionsoft with 100 videos at a dollar a day each. The winner? We put $1.3 million behind it. But we didn’t guess. We let them compete like a singing show. Be Simon Cowell. Let your best content rise to the top.
I audited their websites live on the call
I pulled up attendees’ websites and scored them in real time. SSL, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, remarketing pixels, page speed, mobile responsiveness.
Farmers National Company scored 91 on Google PageSpeed. Incredible. Normally people score 20 or 30.

Others were missing their Facebook Pixel entirely. No Google Remarketing. No Tag Manager. They had no idea what was happening on their own website.
It’s like, what’s the sound of one website falling in the forest?
Caribbean Gutierrez from Ribby’s Tax Prep had stock photos on her homepage instead of her own face. I told her to replace it with a 15-second video of herself saying “I’m Caribbean Gutierrez, and I will make sure your taxes are done right.” How much more powerful is that than a picture of some woman in a forest that you know isn’t real?

I offered free audits to everyone on the call. Our team scores your SSL, tracking pixels, page speed, social media, reviews, and rankings. Most people charge $200 for this. We give it away.
Build a Content Library in Google Drive
Every video, article, positive mention goes into a shared Google Drive folder. That’s your content bank.

My team at A1 Garage has hundreds of pieces in organized folders. Behind-the-scenes footage. Customer reviews. Training videos. News appearances. TV segments from years ago that still work.
You don’t need hundreds. Even 10 great pieces means you never scramble to figure out what to post.
Cross-post everything
When I post on Instagram, my Facebook and Twitter post at the same time. Three platforms, one action.
Then I boost on each one separately. Dollar a Day on each.
I showed this live during the workshop. Takes seconds.
Interview other local businesses
I call this the benevolent strategy.
Go to three businesses you love. Your favorite restaurant. Your barber. Record a one-minute interview with the owner on your phone. Share it. They share it. Their audience discovers you.

Leave five-star reviews on Google and Yelp for them. They reciprocate.
Some of our clients got featured in local news just for doing this.
Personal branding is not about being famous
You’re not trying to be Gary Vaynerchuk. I’m a search engine engineer with a face made for radio.
But people buy from people they know and trust.
Share what you had for lunch. Talk about your dog. Post about going jet skiing.

When someone sees you jet skiing and you also do roofing, who are they calling when hail hits? The five strangers on Google, or the guy they feel like they already know?
You know it’s working when friends say “Man, I see you everywhere.”
The machine runs itself
Collect content. Post it. Boost it for Dollar a Day. The winners get more budget. The machine runs at night while you sleep.
You don’t need a content calendar. You don’t need to plan Christmas content in October. This is evergreen. It compounds.
Your customers and employees do the marketing for you. You just need the system to collect it and distribute it.

That’s exactly what we teach, step by step.
Why the BBB keeps asking us back
This wasn’t our first workshop with them. We’ve done over a dozen since COVID. They keep inviting us because the strategies actually work for their members.

Same with the SBDC (government branch of the Small Business Administration) and other major trade associations. They see results, they want more.
I’ve spoken to 730+ groups in 17 countries. Wall Street Journal, CBS Evening News, co-authored Facebook Nation taught at 700+ colleges.
But the thing I care about is this: real business owners getting real results with simple, repeatable steps.
Everything we taught is free
Operations Process Guide. Main training deck (1,100 pages). Personal branding course. One-minute video training.
Email operations@blitzmetrics.com and we’ll send it all.
I’m not selling anything. I retired 15 years ago. My agenda is seeing you succeed and tell everyone about it.
If you implement this and get results, let me know in the comments. That’s all I ask.
Since this workshop, we’ve built AI agents that do all of this for you. Gathering positive mentions, repurposing videos into articles, auditing your website, boosting posts, sending weekly reports. The agents wake up every morning and do the work while you run your business.
If you’re a founder doing over $1M a year and have happy clients, we can set this up on your computer in one session.
