Set Up Youtube Channel with Proper Branding

Task Library

Create and brand a YouTube channel connected to the website, ready to host the one-minute videos the Content Factory produces.

Category: Digital Plumbing

Use this when the business has no YouTube channel, an unbranded default channel, or a channel stranded in a personal account nobody controls.

Inputs

  • Business owner's Google account (use a Brand Account or grant the owner channel access – never a VA's personal channel)
  • Canonical headshot/logo, a real banner image, and the canonical bio copy
  • At least one real video to publish (a one-minute video or the WHY video)

Steps

  1. Create or claim the channel under the owner's Google account. If others must manage it, use a Brand Account / channel permissions rather than sharing passwords.
  2. Set the channel name to match the business entity (or the person, for personal brands) and claim a handle as close to the canon as available.
  3. Brand it: profile photo = the canonical headshot/logo; banner = a real photo of the business or person at work, not stock.
  4. Write the channel description in first person with the core topics and service area, and add the canonical contact email.
  5. Add the website link in the channel's links section so the channel points home.
  6. Publish at least one real video – a one-minute video answering a customer question is the standard starter – so the channel isn't an empty shell.
  7. Add the channel URL to the schema sameAs list and the website footer (sibling skills).

Definition of done (QA checklist)

  • Channel exists under owner-controlled access (no password-sharing, no VA-owned channel)
  • Name/handle, photo, and banner match the brand canon; no stock imagery
  • Description in first person; website link live on the channel
  • At least one real video published; channel URL added to sameAs and footer
  • Linked back to the definitive article and relevant siblings
  • Complies with Blog Posting Guidelines (if it publishes content)

Example(s)

  • Example needed – run the Meta-Article Prompt after first real run.
