SEO and AI-Citation Tools for Local Service Spotlight Team Members
We use DataForSEO to check rankings, competitors, indexed AI mentions, and live AI citations. The useful part is the data. Sharing one master API password with every builder is not useful—or safe.
Our internal gateway lets an approved builder use those tools from an individual Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex account. The builder signs in with a verified @localservicespotlight.com Google account. The gateway keeps the DataForSEO credential on the server, applies the member’s allowance, and writes an audit receipt for every paid call.

A live ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Claude citation check costs five credits. Indexed AI mentions cost two. Ranked keywords and domain competitors cost three each. An identical request served from cache costs zero.
Why a citation count of zero can be wrong
Indexed AI-mention databases sample prompts with measurable demand. A person’s name may have little recorded query volume, so the index can report zero even when a live AI answer recognizes the person and cites several sources. The gateway exposes both methods. We report the indexed result as an index result, then query the engines live when the question is about a person or a small brand.
The available tools
- Live AI citation check: one prompt on one engine, with current web sources.
- AI mentions index: volume-sampled mentions for a domain or exact phrase.
- Ranked keywords: current Google keywords, positions, and landing pages.
- Domain competitors: the sites that overlap most closely in organic search.
- Usage status: commands, credits, vendor spend, and remaining balances.
What we audit—and what we do not
The audit ledger records the member, tool, time, credits, actual vendor cost, duration, result count, and outcome. It stores a SHA-256 request hash so duplicate usage can be verified. It does not store prompt text, the DataForSEO password, or raw OAuth tokens.
How to connect
The internal pilot uses the remote MCP address issued by operations. Claude Pro and Max members add it under Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. ChatGPT and Codex members install BlitzMetrics Everything and choose Connect. In both cases, sign in with the Local Service Spotlight Google account and start by asking, “Show my DataForSEO usage this month.”
